Samurai Spirits is the highly anticipated 12th entry in the series, and one fans have been waiting for since 2005. SNK recently uploaded a new trailer for Samurai Spirits that showcases all of the playable characters, many returning and some new faces.
The new trailer shows off the full roster that will be playable in Samurai Spirits, as well as more gameplay. Samurai Spirits 2019 has 13 characters returning from across all Samurai Spirits games.
Characters returning from the first Samurai Spirits are Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Earthquake, Galford D. Weiler, Hanzo Hattori, Tam Tam, Kyoshiro Senryo, Jubei Yakyu, Ukyo Tachibana, Charlotte Christine Colde.
Fan favorites Genjuro Kibagami debuted in Samurai Spirits 2, Yoshitora Tokugawa debuted in Samurai Spirits V, and Shiki debuted in Samurai Spirits 64.
The three new characters are Darli Dagger, Wu-Ruixiang, and Yashamaru Kurama. Not much is known about them as SNK wants to keep the surprises for when the game releases.
At PAX 2019, SNK announced that there is DLC planned for Samurai Spirits 2019, but the number of characters and price have yet to be announced. The Online Multi-Player will have an interest feature of Recorded Opponent Playback. The idea being that if you play an opponent Online, Samurai Spirits will record that gameplay, and then the player can fight the ghost offline to learn, practice, and get better at the game. This mode is Online Only. SNK also announced at Pax 2019 that they are interested in putting all 6 Mainline Samurai Spirits games on all consoles.
Samurai Spirits is set to released Internationally on June 27th, 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One. A PC and Nintendo Switch release have been announced, but no date has been given.
